December 2006 Thanksgiving Report

Dear Friends and Prayer Warriors,

Thank you so much for another year of prayer support given to us and Re-Gen Ministries.

This year alone, I experienced the closeness of death like never before. A few good friends of mine in their mid 40s and 50s passed away because of cancer. All are great man and women of God. There are some things we may never fully understand why on this side of heaven. As King David said, "Our time are in His hand." Work while it is day, for the night will come when no one can work!

There are 26 days left for year 2006! Everyday is a gift from God. What we do with it is our gift back to God! This year seems to go by very fast. May we pause for a while and reflect on this year. How have we lived? King David, once prayed, "Lord teach me to number my days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom." (Ps 90:12) As the world gets busier and in these information overload age, we need a heart of wisdom to make right choices as we seek to live life significantly.

For our family much has happen in year 2006.

  • We saw our Home Fellowship group meeting in our house multiplied at the beginning of the year.
  • In March we launched out to start the Sunday Evening Service in Berwick at the City of Casey, South East of Melbourne. Thus Evangelical Community Church Casey was born.(ECC Casey)
  • In May / June, ECCI Missions was set up and launched. Our first trip was to Singapore & Cambodia. We have adopted Takhmua Village to plant churches. A computer School will be starting in Jan 07 to reach out to the Youth in the City.
  • By July we saw new oversea University students added to our new church planted. They are such a blessing to our little new Church.
  • The first Alpha Course was started in October
  • In mid October I was back in Singapore speaking at the Bethel Tertiary Camp. It was an awesome time! Great to see the work of Bethel Youth Alive growing stronger and now under the new leadership of Ps Aaron Low.
  • Our first Water Baptism was held in the first week of November
  • The trip to Myanmar in November was a first too. Great to meet up with the 4 Church planters ECCi Blackburn are supporting. Truly the harvest is plenty but the workers are few.
  • Soon it will be ECC Casey first Family Camp at Adanac Campsite North East of Melbourne at Yarra Junction. We are having Ps David Palmer as our speakers on top of our local speaker.
  • This new year eve, 31st Dec, ECC Casey will Celebrate their first Watch Night service.

On the home front, Claire is 8 1/2 years old now. She has grown very tall and will soon talk to mummy eye ball to eye ball! Carol is very much involved with the Ladies fellowship, Children Church and cooking for Alpha & Sunday service. Our house has turn out to be quite a restaurant!

As the year come to a close, I would like to once again thank you all for your partnership in the ministry. Do drop by for a visit if you are passing by this way.
